What are Genital Warts?

Genital warts are a skin condition caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (Referred to as HPV), and it is the UK’s second most common STI (Sexually transmittable infection). HPV has over 100 different roots, but only 30 of these are responsible for the appearance of warts in the genital area.

Most however are caused by either type 6 or type 11 HPV. HPV can be spread by sexual practices, but also more crucially, by skin-to-skin contact.

Usually, genital warts are painless and harmless and this itself do not have any impact upon the person’s general health. Nevertheless they are very unappealing and frustrating and can cause massive psychological distress to the sufferers of this condition. Most cities in UK have their own STCD clinics (they are also called GU clinics) who offer treatment for these conditions.

If you suffer from genital warts then you must seek help locally and you may even need to undergo full STD screening tests which these clinics will advise and offer to you. If for some reason you are not entirely satisfied with the local services then you may contact our Renew Skin & Health Clinic where we remove these warts just in one visit with laser. Perianal warts are however generally are hard to remove at any centre unless you are prepared to undergo general or spinal anaesthesia. We at Renew Skin and Health clinic also offer you a 3 month guarantee towards any recurrence and in case of any recurrence of new or old lesion. Your subsequent treatment will be carried out free of charge. Our doctors have substantial experience in dealing with any types of warts.
