Warts and Verrucae (also known as plantar warts) are local growths which form on the skin, and are very unappealing visually. They appear due to an infection from the human papilloma virus (Referred to as HPV). There are over 100 types of HPV and some of these effects the genital areas, resulting in genital warts. Some warts may occur elsewhere including face, lips, neck, arms and other places but the principle of their treatment is always the same.
At Renew Skin & Health clinic, we offer you the chance to discover what skin condition you have, at a very early stage. This can then allow you to potentially pursue a warts and/or verrucae removal treatment, which will allow your skin to be left looking smooth and healthy, and this will be done via various safe and efficient treatment methods.
It is important to keep in the mind that wart and verrucae (plantar warts) are easily spread by direct skin contact with human papilloma virus (HPV). This means that you can infect yourself and others by sharing certain equipment, like towels, razors and other personal items. Furthermore, sexual intercourse and close intimate contact can also spread the warts.
Those suffering from warts have come to us here at Renew Skin & Health Clinic, and have been left very satisfied with the results of our professional services and methods. These methods include CO2 laser treatments performed by our experienced cosmetic specialists.
There are different types of warts just as there are different types of HPV strains, but the most familiar type of warts are those which appear dome-shaped, typically appearing on the back of the fingers, toes and knees. The plantar warts are usually found on the sole of the foot, these are usually known as verrucae.
The most efficient course of treatment for warts and verrucae performed here at Renew Skin & Health Clinic are the CO2 laser treatment and the Pulsed-dye laser treatment.
The CO2 laser treatment is designed to follow a very precise and flexible approach for the removal of foot warts. Depending on the condition of the verrucae, our highly experienced doctors can accurately gage the required intensity of the laser, in order to produce the best results. This CO2 treatment is minimally-invasive, painless and scar-free, and this is necessary for those who have painful or uncomfortable sensations, in their bodies, related to the verrucae treatment they have taken or are taking. This form of laser treatment provides the most efficient results, leaving flawless, scar-free skin, and this is due in part to the high level of accuracy of the laser beam, targeted on the affected warts. Typically, the healing process for this form of treatment takes around two weeks, and our cosmetic specialists here at Renew Skin & Health Clinic will recommend you the appropriate course of post-laser treatment to apply at home. This includes things like creams etc.
Pulsed-dye laser treatment is another form of treatment used for the removal of warts and verrucae. This treatment destroys and eliminates the blood supply which had been nourishing the wart and therefore following each Pulsed-dye laser treatment the wart will shrink in size. This may however cause a blister to form, which will usually ‘heal and peel’ within 7-14 days. It usually takes 1-4 to treatment sessions of laser therapy in order to achieve optimal results and it’s worth mentioning that these treatments are performed every 4-6 weeks. Upon the completion of each session, our doctors at Renew Skin & Health Clinic would advise you the appropriate aftercare. If you do opt for Pulsed-dye laser treatment in order to treat your warts and verrucae with us, then one should be aware that this procedure has very low levels of pain, akin to snapping a small rubber band. To alleviate this, the specialists here at Renew Skin & Health Clinic will provide you with a numbing cream (anaesthetic). We give you our upmost confidence that the whole wart and verrucae removal procedure, via laser, will be comfortable and not too taxing in terms of pain. This is the case on both the CO2 laser treatment and the Pulsed-dye laser treatment.
